During my Masters in Finance, I have cleared 7 Certifications of NSE NCFM [ Along with AMFI-Mutual Fund (Advisors) Module which has been discontinued by NSE from 01-June-2010 ].

These certifications have always been very helpful for me in clearing my jobs interviews. With certain tricks & techniques anyone can clear these certifications very easily.

The NCFM Programme

Taking into account international experience and the needs of the Indian financial markets, National Stock Exchange introduced in 1998 a facility for testing and certification by launching NSE's Certification in Financial Markets (NCFM).

NCFM is an online testing and certification programme. It tests the practical knowledge and skills required to operate in the financial markets. Tests are conducted in a secure and unbiased manner and certificates awarded based on merit of the candidate to qualify the on-line test.

Purpose of NCFM Certification:

NCFM exam is conducted online,after clearing the exam the candidate will get certification for the particular module. It tests the practical knowledge and skills required to operate in the financial markets. Tests are conducted in a secure and unbiased manner and certificates awarded based on merit of the candidate to qualify the on-line test. Negative marking is applicable for different modules, 25% of negative marking will be there for each question.

FAQ :- NCFM Exam Modules


Who can join NCFM?

No formal educational background is necessary for registration to the NCFM programme. Nor is there an age requirement. However, candidates are expected to be numerate and comfortable with written English.

How to join NCFM?

One can join NCFM by registering himself for the programme by filling up the prescribed registration form in "http://www.nseindia.com". The candidate may enroll for the chosen module by filling up the said form. The details regarding the test center, date and time of test can be choosen by the candidate and the hallticket will be provided on successfull completion of the form.

Is there any deadline for taking the test after registration?

Yes. Test fees are valid for 180 days from the date of payment. Candidates need to enroll for the test(s) within 180 days from payment of fees. Once the candidates selects the date of exam then this option will not be there, the candidate has to apear for the exam otherwise the payment will get expired.

Is it mandatory to take test of all modules of the NCFM?

Its not mandatory. A candidate can seek testing and certification in any module of his choice. Its totally depends on the candidate needs and interest

When and where to take the test?

The test is conducted everyday on week days (Except on Exchange specified holidays as well as saturdays and sundays) at all six NSE Centers( National Stock Exchange of India Ltd) offices viz., Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.

How to prepare for the test?

On submission of the registration form along with the test fees, the candidate is supplied with study material(A kind of Text Book) for the selected module by NSE to the candidate.

NCFM provides Question Bank which helps the candidate to easily pass the exam with less time and less efforts. Once after reading the text book refer the NCFM provides Question Bank then it will be easy to clear the exam eventhough negative marking is there.

Can I postpone the Test once the date of test is choosen?

No. Once a test date and time slot have been allotted, the test can not be rescheduled. You may seek fresh enrolment and again you have to pay the fees for the selected module.

How to take the test?

On arrival at the designated test centre on the specified day, the test administrator verifies identity of the candidate and grants him access to the test terminal. In case of online enrollment, candidates are required to bring hall ticket alongwith relevant photo id proof (as mentioned on the hall ticket) which is verified by the test administrator before allowing the candidate to take the test.

When do I get my result?

Marks are provided to the candidate immediately on submission of the answer paper as a printout . A certificate is mailed to the given address to successful candidates within 15 to 20 working days from the test date.

Can I get any assistance during the test?

The candidate can bring only a scientific calculator and a pen to the examination hall and nothing else. No assistance is available during the test. Rough sheets are provided to the candidate for carrying out their workings. A backup sheet is provided to the candidate to list out the answers selected by him. The candidate can write the answers in the given sheet to avoid risks of power failures.
